AFOREMENTIONED MAGICAL LAST MINUTE ALTERNATIVE

I've been scheming over the past hour or so. I was thinking about how best to use my time over these past few weeks, since I haven't made as much progress as I'd like, in part because of how deeply I'm dreading having to learn how to do something I don't know how to do, and in part because I'm terrified of the possibility that it may turn out completely awful. Having one giant deliverable really ramps up the stress, especially since it's so expensive and potentially a huge time suck that will result in nothing too spectacular.

So instead I'm considering an exploration of the intersection of poetry and design across many mediums. Here's my mental list of potential deliverables so far:
  • Poetry-inspired light fixture that I've been dying to do
  • Series of three posters
  • Series of three t-shirt designs t-shirt
  • Series of three stationary designs
  • Smaller-scale type based stop motion with awesome soundtrack (LOVE this idea)
  • And so on and so forth.
  • Oh yeah, the little tissue flower parcels with seed paper inside! Still love that idea.

The range and the exploratory nature of this shift really appeals to me. Apart from the faithfulness to my theme from the beginning and the idea of the poetry/design intersection, I love the fact that these items all have a functional use (very important to my earlier concept), can be sold, and can be digested little by little. There's also a wide variety of deliverables, which is great, because different people can find inspiration in different pieces.

I'm going to draw up a new synopsis and do some serious sketching tomorrow, in order to put my ideas together. I'll also draw up a concrete schedule for the remaining 5 weeks (gulp) that will give me a sense of pace and purpose, moment-to-moment.
